The monthly numbers checklist
Five numbers that tell you how your page is really doing. No math skills needed, just a calculator and 10 minutes. Do it on the 1st of every month.
Before you start
Open Statistics in your OnlyFans menu and set the dates to last month, the 1st to the last day. Your money, split by type, is under Statements.
- Subscriber
- Someone paying to see your page.
- New subs
- People who subscribed for the first time.
- Renews
- Subscribers who paid for another month.
- Messages
- Money from paid messages, the locked photos and videos fans pay to open in your DMs.
- Profile visitors
- People who looked at your page.
- Gross and net
- Gross is what fans paid. Net is what you keep after OnlyFans takes its 20%. Pick one and stick with it. I use gross.
What a new fan is worth
How much you earned for each new subscriber you got.
Your total earnings for the month, and your number of new subs.
Watch it month to month. If you ever pay to promote your page, keep what you pay for each new fan well under this number.
Where your money comes from
How much of your money came from paid messages.
In Statements: your Messages earnings and your total earnings.
Mine is over half. If yours is low, your DMs are the first place to grow.
Whether fans stick around
Do fans keep paying after their first month, or leave?
Your number of renews and your number of new subs.
Higher is better. Under 1 is a sign fans aren't staying: post more often and talk to them. On a free page, skip this one.
Whether visitors become fans
Out of everyone who looked at your page, how many subscribed.
Your number of profile visitors and your number of new subs.
If it's low, people are seeing your page and saying no. Fix your bio, header, pinned post and price before you pay for more traffic.
Whether your numbers are right
If an agency, chatting team or app reports your earnings, check their total against OnlyFans. No agency or app? Skip this one.
Their total for last month, and the total in Statements for the same dates.
OnlyFans' own numbers win. If a report doesn't match, don't trust anything else in it until you know why.
Work out yours
Your numbers stay on this device. Nothing you type here is sent anywhere.
The first-line swipe file
Openers you can copy, paste and make your own, for the six moments in your DMs that matter most. 54% of my OnlyFans earnings came from messages, more than five times my posts and subscriptions put together.
Before you start
- DM
- A private message on OnlyFans.
- Welcome message
- The automatic message every new subscriber gets.
- Mass message
- One message sent to all your fans at once, or to a list.
- Renew off
- A fan who turned off auto-renew. Their subscription ends unless they turn it back on.
Sound like you: swap in the words you really use. Keep it short. Ask one easy question.
How I run shoot days
A few days a month, one person helping, and I keep every raw. No studio. The camera is my phone.
The words you'll see
- Reel
- A short vertical video, like on Instagram or TikTok.
- Script
- The plan for a video: what you say, what you do, the shots, in order.
- Raw
- The original video file, straight from the camera, before any text, music or cuts.
- Repurpose
- Using the same footage again, cut a new way, for a new post or another platform.
- Collab
- Shooting with another creator.
- Content creator house
- A house where several creators stay and shoot together for a few days.
- Cross-promotion
- You post each other, so each of your audiences sees the other.
Inside one shoot day
On a shoot day I'm usually exhausted before I start. Here's how the day goes anyway, from hair to the last photo.
The words you'll see
- Blowout
- A salon wash and blow-dry that leaves your hair styled.
- Extensions
- Added hair, clipped or bonded in for length or volume.
- Suction pad
- A sticky pad on the back of your phone that holds it on glass, like a window or a mirror.
- Kickstand
- A fold-out stand on a phone case, so the phone stands up on its own.
- Point-and-shoot
- A small, simple camera with the lens built in.
- Mirrorless camera
- A bigger camera with lenses you can swap.
- Fixed lens
- A lens that doesn't zoom. You move closer or further away instead.
